Photos on USB-connected SSD to MyCloud Photos

Hi,

I have my photos on a T7 Samsung SSD formatted APFS containing a single volume Backup.

T7 connects (USB) to a MacAir (Intel, Catalina). The volume Backup is mounted read/write for myusername and contains a folder PhotoBak.

Can I get the photos in PhotoBak up to MyCloud Photos?

Chris

YES, but it is necessary to control the format of the files / photos

Hi,

I have 60 GiB of photos to push up to MyCloud.

I would like to understand MyCloud photos sorting so that I can "correct" file-names and/or EXIF data before the push (much easier on the Mac than in MyCloud).

Several MyCloud help topics indicate that photos can be sorted "chronologically", but by which date?

File datetime? EXIF shooting date? Or ?????

Can photos be sorted alphabetically by file-name?

Hi @Black Mamba

So my take-homes are:

  • YES the USB-connected SSD will work.
  • Default sort in MyCloud Photos is newest-first shooting-date from the EXIF data.

Thanks for this info.
